A slice of time in Luciana’s life…2011

The PHOTOGRAPH…

DOCUMENTED MEMORIES….. the PHOTOGRAPH.
We need them so we can reflect on the past, they can make us happy or sad, they help us remember the precious past.
Every day we experience connections with people, it may be family, friends or people we don’t even know. One very powerful and lasting way to preserve and reflectlife’s journey is through recorded images. PHOTOGRAPHS…
How do you remember a close family member who has passed on or a child who is now grown? PHOTOGRAPHS…
What can make you cry when you look at that printed memory and reflect? PHOTOGRAPHS…
Images have always been a very powerful form of media that documents the past. Before photographs we remember people and events throughout history from paintings and drawings. It is a vital testament to documented history that what we see in an image actually occurred.

A true story:
A few years back we were commissioned to photograph a birthday party for a client’s mother. She was turning 90 and her daughter thought to have the party photographed. It was set in a museum, ancient dinosaurs as the backdrop. How appropriate :) She loved the idea, after all they were the only thing older then her that evening… We witnessed everlasting love and interaction between the grand mom and her charming husband.
After decades of marriage, they still had it. We captured this and other very special moments between family and friends. We were only documenting a 3 hour pieceof history. That 3 hour piece of history was represented in a book that not only told the story of the elderly couple but also the spirit and mood of that wonderful evening. All of the people that attended, their unique personalities and interactions. They were the “characters” in the pictorial storybook.
About a month after the grand mom and her husband received the book he passed on….
So now that book, the PHOTOGRAPHS and the memories contained are a priceless treasure for the grieving wife. It is her memory of a good time with close family and friends. Her daughter told me she looks at it almost every day it helps her remember the “good times”. It makes her smile now, it heals it comforts her.
So just remember that it is very important and necessary to record these little slices of life…. We never know when we may need to look back, reflect and savor the memories of life.

Here is my piece of history…

Sharon & Matt at Longwood Gardens ~ Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer

January 4th, 2012

We hope that you had a wonderful holiday season and wish you all the best in 2012!

We would like to celebrate with you by sharing a special engagement session. Special in several ways. It has been almost a year to the day that Sharon and Matt were engaged in the same exact spot at Longwood Gardens. We absolutely loved the challenge of photographing them during the amazing and colorful holiday light show. If you have not experienced it, you have to visit as it is on display till January 8th. The weather played tricks on us and we had to reschedule a few times. Finally it was going to be a clear day. Little did we know it would be the coldest day of the season so far! Brrrr. Sooooo cold.

We loved working with Matt and Sharon and are looking forward to documenting their wedding in the fall.

Laskas Family ~ Pennsylvania Lifestyle Photographer

December 7th, 2011

I hope you remember these cute little guys from last year. We all got a little wet documenting how they swim in the pond.
We met the whole family, including brand new baby Bella, this year and posed for a little while, but soon creativity and fun took over – wheelbarrow, apples, hay, pilgrim costume, hay ride and sparkling green tractor that would make my niece Vali turn red with envy. We captured lively lifestyle images that make the kids’ personalities shine. So much fun….We were taking hay out of our hair for hours, but it was worth it.
Can’t wait to do it again next year!

Beth & Michael’s Colorful Engagemnt ~ New York Wedding Photographer

December 6th, 2011

Beth and Michael took our advice to be bold and creative with selecting the location for their engagement session to hart and found the awesomest location yet – a huge graffiti park. Amazing colors and fun scenes everywhere! The couple’s fun personalities just shine in these images.
We finished the session with an even more incredible sunset sky over Manhattan.
Can’t wait to document Beth and Micheal’s big day next year.

The Cutest Little Boys Ever ~ Pennsylvania Family Photographer

December 5th, 2011

Have you ever seen little boys cuter then these? I love how spontaneous little kids these ages are. Their personalities shine through every image. However expecting them to sit next to each other, look at the camera and smile is close to impossible! Or at least not for more then three seconds.
I am so glad Kelly and Paul came back with their little ones. It is hard to believe it has been five years since I photographed their wedding. I am looking forward to watching them grow.

Kasey & Ryan @ Georgetown ~ Delaware Wedding Photographer

December 2nd, 2011

We photographed Kasey and Ryan a few weeks ago in Georgetown, D.C. We enjoyed visiting all of their favorite locations. The cupcakes at Sprinkles were sensational – especially the red velvet one!
We are looking forward to documenting their big day next summer.

Once Upon a Time at Grand Central ~ New York Family Photographer

November 29th, 2011

We had the best time working with the Park family again. They are so creative in selecting the perfect location for their sessions. Dad travels a lot and the boys love trains, so why not shoot at the busiest place in New York – the Grand Central.
The boys could not have looked any cuter and they did a great job posing and acting for our cameras. We are looking forward to working together again next year.
