Who would have thought it would snow at the end of March and during spring break! It sure made for beautiful photos.
Horses in movies always follow their people around and come on command. I have been working with our Bentley boy to be friendly, but the girl had great expectations about B chasing her around if I let him loose in the ring. Being a typical grown up, I was extremely skeptical.
I really should believe in MAGIC between horses and little girls! He was perfect!

Over the last year, Tara who you may know as our image correction specialist and assistant photographer but even more so our close friend and Christina one of our brides, and I have become increasingly obsessed with horses and riding. Gateway Stables and Riding Center has become our second home. Neither one of us owns a horse at the moment, so when we came up with the creative idea for this photo session, we were super appreciative that our friends at Gateway gladly lent us their horses. All three of them proved to be amazing models.

We had an incredible time despite the hot, sticky and stormy weather. Thank you Mike for some of the images. The rest are mine, Tara’s and Cristina’s. We all learned a lot about including horses in photos.

Getting to know the Mitzvah children I work with during the pre-shoot is one of my favorite times of the entire process. We get to connect and build a trust. When I found out Alexa and I shared a hobby, I had to take photos with her favorite pony.
We visited Ashford Farms where Rollo lives and Alexa rides. What a treat!

I wanted to create a series of real and relaxed images that would document the relationship – pony is the best friend a girl could have!

I can’t wait to document Alexa’s day in the summer.

Dogs are children too. I was so excited when I was asked to photograph these little pups. They are so fluffy, cute and full of personalities. Asking them to sit still next to each other for a photo = impossible! I couldn’t help but to fall in love with them.
