This is my personal testimony to decorating with photography. And, in a way, to non-wedding photography for couples.
Just because you don’t have kids yet, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep working with a photographer after your wedding. I have plenty of “arms-length” pictures of me and my husband (you know the ones I am talking about), but we didn’t have a ton of great pictures of us that were taken by someone else. Not since our wedding…four years ago. And neither of us liked being in front of the camera..or so we thought! First of all – four years is too long. Second – give it a try – and I guarantee you’ll be hooked. Pete is already coming up with ideas for the other types of shoots we want to do.
Okay – if you missed the shoot Jana did of us in April - check it out. You’ll understand why we are obsessed with what she created for us in just 45 minutes of walking around our neighborhood, talking, and having fun. Forty-five minutes. That’s it. That was all we needed to end up with over 100 perfect finished images. And it was incredible! Oh – and we got to take our dog! :) You can’t quite see it in the photo , but in the background of the huge canvas is the Falls Bridge. I am in love with the sunsets over this bridge, but I never envisioned it like this. I went to school in the East Falls area and we moved back in early 2007. We have had this gigantic wall with nothing on it for the past two and a half years. We were waiting for the perfect image. It needed something big, but we didn’t want to default to something from IKEA that everyone else had. That’s my story.
Now my testimonial to decorating with photography….Canvas gallery wraps are such an amazing way to decorate! Price-wise they are comparable to framing a print sometimes less, but it provides such a modern, versatile look. I never have to worry about the frame matching my decor, just the image. The focus is only on your image. And you can go way bigger!!!
This wall is in our living room. The ceiling is slanted and goes from about 16′-20′ at the highest point. To give you some perspective, those windows are 10 feet high by 12 feet wide. The “small” canvases are 16″x24″ and 1.5″ deep. They were taken on our honeymoon in Alaska. The big one is BIG!!! I LOVE IT! I can’t say it enough. It is 40″x60″ and 2.5″ deep. That’s as big as 30 8″x10″ prints! Yeah…I would rather have that one “WOW” image on this wall than 30 8×10’s. Or any number of smaller framed prints really.
Now are you ready to schedule your “just because shoot”?
Thank you again Jana!!!!!! We cannot thank you enough for what you helped us create!
Angelique + Pete + Trouble
Here are some beautiful photographs, from a beautiful day in a picturesque location of some beautiful people.. Kelli and Frederick! We spent a few hours at the stunning Longwood Gardens with this very much in love already married couple. Kelli contacted us and asked us to do a photo shoot at Longwood, we were honored to be there for them! They were married a month or so ago at the Jersey shore. This time around Kelli had a different dress that was just perfect for the day! WOW it was so relaxed, no time pressure like on the wedding day. We had more time to be creative and it was such a pleasure to be with a couple that just was open for anything and there to have fun.
Enjoy,
mike and jana

Here are a few images from Angelique and Pete’s just because photo session. We had a blast walking around and creating photos that would make great canvas wraps for their apartment. Most people thought that we were on an engagement session and kept stopping us and congratulating them.
You do not need a special occasion to have photos taken. Just Because sessions are so much fun! A perfect anniversary gift!

Wanted to share with you some of our photos from engagement shoots we photographed during 08′. Great fun! A simple way for all of us to get to know each other and to have fun in front the the camera. This is a relaxed time, we can challenge ourselves as photographers and let our creativity take over. So many location choices…we are up for almost any location! Lots of our couples have favorite places where they would like pictures taken, their first meeting place, the proposal, etc. Make it original we love the variety. Time of year is not an issue either, make it a season that you both enjoy.

Laura, Tom & Christian
Valley Garden Park – Wilmington, DE
Laura and Tom spent some time with me on Sunday morning – before the temperature crept to 96 degrees. They are going to tie the knot on October 25th at the Union League. It was a great pleasure working with them and especially with Tom’s six-year-old son Christian, who supposedly doesn’t like to have his photo taken! He will have the very important job of being a ring bearer at Tom and Laura’s wedding.
We are looking forward to capturing all the special moments on your big day.
Jana & Brian
