Valley Garden Park Engagement Session with Christina & Derrick and their Jeep

Friday, July 1st, 2016

Valley Garden Park in Delaware makes for a wonderful back drop for an engagement session. Part of a successful session and event coverage is a connection with the couple and their families and friends. When clients feel comfortable with us and trust our vision, we are able to capture not only amazing and intimate moments but also create artistic images that would not be possible without such trust.

Chrissy and DJ received a recommendation to inquire about our photography from a very dear photographer colleague. Chrissy and I had an instant connection when speaking about the wedding day on the phone. From there we decided Valley Garden was perfect for the engagement session since they wanted nature and stream or lake but nothing too manicured :) DJ is not supper keen on posing for photos but once we included his favorite Jeep, he warmed up and we all had a wonderful time.

Both mike & I are extra excited to photograph their wedding tomorrow.

Longwood Gardens Engagement Session ~ Stephanie & Erik ~ mkPhoto ~ Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer

Wednesday, May 11th, 2016

Spring is the most beautiful at Longwood Gardens. Stephanie and Erik came all the way from northern New Jersey for their engagement session. The day was a little cold but the colorful tulips and flowers made up for it.
We can’t wait to photograph their wedding at the Grounds For Sculpture in September.

Sarah & Matt’s Proposal @ Longwood Gardens ~ Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer ~ mkPhoto

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016

These two could not be any more adorable and in love. Matt called us only a few short days before visiting Longwood Gardens and shared his plan to propose to his sweetheart Sarah. We just had to come up with a spot to meet and unobtrusively capture the moment without arising suspicion. Little mk was the perfect decoy and unsuspecting Sarah actually walked passed us apologizing for interrupting our pretend portrait session. Matt dropped to one knee and out of his pocket came the most beautiful ring. Sarah was ecstatic and with a huge hug said YES!

We were there to capture it all. The master plan worked and Jana even cried a little. It is a privilege to photograph such a joyful moment for a sweet, loving couple. We are so happy to capture beautiful images that will bring back memories for the rest of Matt and Sarah’s lives.

Mallory & Jesse @ Lincoln Financial Field & Urban~ mkPhoto ~ Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

Wednesday, November 11th, 2015

We absolutely adore this fun couple. Together we created beautiful images and all the love on the Eagles field resulted in a series of wins for the birds:)! Can’t be a coincidence. Mallory works for Urban Outfitters so after the stadium their adorable pup Harley joined us for a few photos at the Navy Yard. The interiors of the building are photographer eye candy. We even played with the blur look that seems to be popping up in all the fashion adds.
We are super excited to be photographing Mallory and Jesse’s big day next spring at One Atlantic

Chesapeake City Maryland Engagement Session ~ Jourdan & Mike ~ Jana Bannan for mkPhoto

Friday, November 6th, 2015

How fantastic is it to be working with Mike and Jourdan and their baby boy Jackson at Hollywood Beach in Chesapeake City. This will be a “three-peat” Lehman wedding! We photographed both of Mike’s sisters’ weddings. Baby Jackson will be acting as the ceremonial best man in June at the Chesapeake Inn , so of course he came along for the fun! Growing up, Jourdan spent summers in Chesapeake City, so her heart drifted to the shore when she began to think about her dream wedding venue. I can hardly wait for their beachy chic wedding next summer. Looking forward to working with Chrissy and the team of Truly You Events .

Emily & Mike @ Winterthur Estate ~ Modern Delaware Engagement Photographer

Friday, October 30th, 2015

We absolutely adore this cute couple. Love was everywhere and we did not a little rain spoil the engagement session. A quick rain storm made Winterthur look even more enchanted on the early fall day.

Emily and Mike will be getting married at Greenville Country Club next spring and we are super excited to capture their country estate wedding.

My People are Engaged@ ~ Barbara & Pete and Stan ~ mkPhotography ~ Cape May Engagement

Friday, October 23rd, 2015

Meet Stan and his people Barbara and Pete. We photographed their engagement session in Cape May this summer, NJ and the weather and light could not have been prettier. Add vintage bike and a pair of Louboutins and we have a winning combination. The love and adoration these two have for one another shines through every image. We are thrilled to document Barbara and Pete’s wedding next year.
Congratulations

From the Bride:
How we met..
Pete and I grew up in small neighboring towns with many mutual friends. This caused us to run into each other a few times but we never said more than hello due to Pete’s shyness. Then everything changed on January 5th, 2008 when we ran into each other at a party. For some reason I developed a huge attraction for him and I made it my night’s mission to break him out of his shell. Luckily I found myself standing directly across from him in an intense game of girls vs guys survivor flip cup. After only one winning round on the girls team my friend tried to vote him off until I nudged her and shook my head no! She got the hint and chose someone else instead. As fate would have it we ended up being the last two to finish the game, I won of course! From there he asked if i wanted to go outside and get some air with him but it was so cold we ended up in his ford lightning listening to music and talking for hours. It only came to an end because the sun came up and my mom called worried about why I never made it home that night. Little did I know that this night would turn into a lifetime of happiness.

The proposal
We had just arrived in Aruba on our annual family vacation when Pete told me to get ready and that he had made dinner plans for us that night. I had never heard of the restaurant before and had no idea what to expect while we were walking down the beautiful palm beach to our destination. To my surprise we arrived at a private table on the beach surrounded by tiki torches and over looking the sunset fading into the water. It was unreal! It was at that moment I had to catch my breath when I realized this wasn’t just another date, it was THE date. Pete was going to propose! After making me wait anxiously for 2 hours while I forced down my food he finally dropped to one knee in the sand and asked me to be his wife. When I was finally able to control my tears he opened the ring box to show me he had the exact same ring made as one I showed him I liked 2 years prior! Not only was it the most beautiful ring I had ever seen, it showed how much thought and time he had put into this whole engagement. My 7 year long wait for this magical night was absolutely worth every second. I wish I could relive it over and over again.

Why we chose Cape May NJ for our engagement photos
Pete and I both grew up going to the jersey shore. A majority of our summers spent together were spent down at his families beach house in Cape May, right on the same beach where we had the photos taken. We also liked the idea that it would be similar to our engagement in Aruba with the beautiful sunset we are grateful to view from his home in cape may. We have so many memories together in that town and plan on making many more with our own kids one day. I’m so glad we will have these beautiful pictures to share with them.

Wedding plans
Our fairy tale wedding is set for December 3rd 2016 at the historical Curtis Center in old city Philadelphia. We chose to have a December wedding because The Christmas season is both of our favorite times of year. We look forward to celebrating this joyous occasion with all of our friends and family. We are truly blessed and can’t wait to start planning!
