Meet Stan and his people Barbara and Pete. We photographed their engagement session in Cape May this summer, NJ and the weather and light could not have been prettier. Add vintage bike and a pair of Louboutins and we have a winning combination. The love and adoration these two have for one another shines through every image. We are thrilled to document Barbara and Pete’s wedding next year.
Congratulations

How we met..
Pete and I grew up in small neighboring towns with many mutual friends. This caused us to run into each other a few times but we never said more than hello due to Pete’s shyness. Then everything changed on January 5th, 2008 when we ran into each other at a party. For some reason I developed a huge attraction for him and I made it my night’s mission to break him out of his shell. Luckily I found myself standing directly across from him in an intense game of girls vs guys survivor flip cup. After only one winning round on the girls team my friend tried to vote him off until I nudged her and shook my head no! She got the hint and chose someone else instead. As fate would have it we ended up being the last two to finish the game, I won of course! From there he asked if i wanted to go outside and get some air with him but it was so cold we ended up in his ford lightning listening to music and talking for hours. It only came to an end because the sun came up and my mom called worried about why I never made it home that night. Little did I know that this night would turn into a lifetime of happiness.
The proposal
We had just arrived in Aruba on our annual family vacation when Pete told me to get ready and that he had made dinner plans for us that night. I had never heard of the restaurant before and had no idea what to expect while we were walking down the beautiful palm beach to our destination. To my surprise we arrived at a private table on the beach surrounded by tiki torches and over looking the sunset fading into the water. It was unreal! It was at that moment I had to catch my breath when I realized this wasn’t just another date, it was THE date. Pete was going to propose! After making me wait anxiously for 2 hours while I forced down my food he finally dropped to one knee in the sand and asked me to be his wife. When I was finally able to control my tears he opened the ring box to show me he had the exact same ring made as one I showed him I liked 2 years prior! Not only was it the most beautiful ring I had ever seen, it showed how much thought and time he had put into this whole engagement. My 7 year long wait for this magical night was absolutely worth every second. I wish I could relive it over and over again.
Why we chose Cape May NJ for our engagement photos
Pete and I both grew up going to the jersey shore. A majority of our summers spent together were spent down at his families beach house in Cape May, right on the same beach where we had the photos taken. We also liked the idea that it would be similar to our engagement in Aruba with the beautiful sunset we are grateful to view from his home in cape may. We have so many memories together in that town and plan on making many more with our own kids one day. I’m so glad we will have these beautiful pictures to share with them.
Wedding plans
Our fairy tale wedding is set for December 3rd 2016 at the historical Curtis Center in old city Philadelphia. We chose to have a December wedding because The Christmas season is both of our favorite times of year. We look forward to celebrating this joyous occasion with all of our friends and family. We are truly blessed and can’t wait to start planning!
