For a fun Friday post we decided to share a smattering of moments from some recent downtime we took in order to recharge and reconnect with family and friends. Few things are more restorative than ocean spray, salty air, craggy boats, children’s laughter, the crackle and heat of a bonfire in the dark of a crisp New England summer night, and relaxing into a couple of days away from the whirring computers waiting back in mkPhoto’s busy office! We hope you enjoy similar summery weeks and weekends this season!

It’s already the last day of the first month of 2014 and it has been a long, cold one! Getting outside may not be at the top of everyone’s list in subzero temperatures but few things breathe oxygen back into Jana amidst endless hours of album designing than taking a Bentley break!

It’s the first day of November! The afternoon light is dwindling and the weather is finally losing altitude. We’ve lavished in an unseasonably warm autumn this year and the chill is finally in the air letting us know such lavishing is about to come to an end. Happy Friday my friends! We like to take Fridays off from posting the typical wedding, portrait, and mitzvah photography on the blog that we’ve been fortunate and proud to be doing and feature something more personal. And, for the past several weeks these Fridays have been dominated by Jana’s horses! Horses are great and all but today it is MY turn!

Recently I took my old KTM dirt bike for a quick spin in the sun:

Whew – this whole week – this whole SPRING flew by! HAPPY SUMMER! The solstice heralds the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere and this year’s solstice fell on Friday, June 21 at 5:04 Universal time, which was 1:04 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time so HEY it’s OFFICIALLY SUMMER! Jana here and *I PROMISE* Fun Fridays will be about more than just horses going forward but I could not resist sneaking this one in today to lead us into an AWESOME weekend.

Our friend Margie didn’t want to be photographed because she wanted the spotlight to be on: BABE! “It’s all about Babe because he is AWESOME!” Babe even has a sign hanging on his stall that reads “AWESOME”. He really is beautiful so, well, no argument here! :)
