For a fun Friday post we decided to share a smattering of moments from some recent downtime we took in order to recharge and reconnect with family and friends. Few things are more restorative than ocean spray, salty air, craggy boats, children’s laughter, the crackle and heat of a bonfire in the dark of a crisp New England summer night, and relaxing into a couple of days away from the whirring computers waiting back in mkPhoto’s busy office! It’s already the last day of the first month of 2014 and it has been a long, cold one! Getting outside may not be at the top of everyone’s list in subzero temperatures but few things breathe oxygen back into Jana amidst endless hours of album designing than taking a Bentley break!

Here are some photos of Jana and her infamous handsome horse Bentley frolicking amongst the snowy landscape of Gateway Stables near Kennett Square, PA.

This (below) is truly the stuff of Christmas! These images were taken at an annual holiday get together with family and friends.

Ingredients? Fresh snow, crackling hearth, gingerbread houses with icing and sweets, the mirth of merry pink-cheeked children, warmth, love. Mix and enjoy!

A week ago Mike and Jana had the honor of photographing the MSquerade 2013! It was held at World Cafe Live at the Queen in downtown Wilmington, DE! The event was a festival of masks and gorgeous gowns and bursting with big bold color — what a venue! There was face painting, and extensive and impressive silent auction, a mashed potato bar (!!)… It was put on to raise funds for the Delaware Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. It’s the first day of November! The afternoon light is dwindling and the weather is finally losing altitude.
