Emily & Jamison Wedding @ Hotel duPont ~ mkPhotography ~ Delaware Wedding Photographer

From the Bride:

Over the past seven years Jamison and I have grown to know we are more alike than different. We were both born in Wilmington, Delaware and attended the same high school. Our love for each other, family and friends contributed to our bridal party of twenty. My family and I attended Immanuel Church in Wilmington, Delaware for ten years. At the age of eight I told my parents it would be the place I would get married and eighteen years later I did. God’s presence in our life and in the church touched our heart and we hope the hearts of others. Some special moments of the ceremony included the classic hymn, How Great Thou Art, and my cousin singing during the lighting of the unity candle.
The evening continued at the reception in the historic Gold Ballroom at the Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware. The French neoclassic venue featuring gilded rosettes and glittering chandeliers was the backdrop to our fairy tale. Our perfect wedding included anything blush, gold, and sparkles. Needless to say, my “superman” was super flexible.
The sparkles from the swarvoski crystals on my Pnina Tornai wedding gown and veil were a favorite. We also included a trending theme of ombre to our wedding cake. The custom monogram made by our wedding planner was used on our stationary, dance floor and ice sculpture which tied it all together.
We enjoyed dancing the night with family and friends including some hit songs played at the bachelorette party in Miami, Florida. The “fire kept burning” with bananas foster flambé which originated in New Orleans, Louisiana where the bachelor party was held. My parents’ thoughtfulness during the wedding planning process allowed us to enjoy every moment of the night… a dream come true.

The Proposal
The Delaware beach is our favorite getaway. On the morning of May 25, 2014 Jamison and I took my dog, Bandit, for a walk to the bay. As the sun was rising, Jamison asked me to marry him. Jamison said he knew he wanted to “grow old with me” after watching The Wedding Singer. While Bandit was the only one to witness the proposal, we enjoyed celebrating with our friends in Dewey beach that evening.

Some Unique Details
Special Accessory
The bride’s was the rosary beads wrapped around my bouquet. They were my grandfather’s (Nonno) rosaries made out of seeds he planted in his garden. Unfortunately, he could not be with them on that day but he felt close to her heart.
The Dress
The bride found Pnina Tornai on Pinterest when it first launched in 2009…it might have been my first pin! After I got engaged I was in New York for work and a friend told me Pnina Tornai was having a trunk show at Kleinfeld Bridal. My mom and I stayed for a girl’s weekend and signed up for an appointment with Pnina. After trying on a few dresses, I said yes to the first dress I tried on! I fell in love with its sheer natural waistline and tiered lace embellished with swovarski crystals and pearls. Saying yes to the to the Pnina dress was a once in a lifetime experience.
Welcome Bags
The couple was born and raised in Delaware…growing up only 3 miles apart. We decided to welcome our guests “home” with a Delaware themed basket. Below are some of our favorite foods and drinks that were included:

Dewey Beach Koozie – Dewey Beach, DE is just two blocks wide with some of our favorite bars including: Northbeach, Starboard, and The Bottle and Cork.
Diamond Merlot – Delaware was nicknamed “The Diamond State” by Tomas Jefferson because it’s a “Jewel” due to its location on the eastern seaboard.
