Brynley & Mike Wedding @ Greenville Country Club ~ mkPhotography ~ Delaware Wedding Photographer

From the Bride:
Our love story:
We are basically the coolest couple ever!!! Just Kidding. We are one of the happiest couples ever though, simply because we have been waiting for each other for a long time. We have never been so happy. It did not take long for us to fall head over heels for each other after we met at a work related training conference. Neither one of us learned much that day because we were checking each other out the entire time. Both Mike and I took long roads with lots of hurdles, to find the love we believed and always knew was out there. We fell in love so strongly and naturally after our first meeting. We were engaged 10 months later and were beyond excited to start planning a fabulous day celebrating our love. When our wedding day finally arrived, so many of our family and friends came to be with us. The day and the entire wedding was beyond perfect! We had officially started our lives together!
We are both very close with our families and love spending time with them when we can. We both enjoy our hobbies. Brynley rides horses and Mike enjoys teaching ballroom dancing (although it was way more than a hobby at one point!). Brynley’s horse Cruiser had to be a part of the day and he walked her part of the way down the isle.

How we got engaged

B:
Michael brought me to my family’s millstone in Vermont. The millstone has been on the property for many years as the house was originally my Great grandfathers. It is a very special place.
M:
I had planned to take Brynley to the millstone for some time, and had the idea to write and illustrate a children’s book about her life as a girl growing up with a magic millstone that could show her the future.
B:
He sat me down at the millstone and pulled out this book he had written and illustrated about me. Mike read the story page by page, as I instantly began balling!
M:
She started crying, what I hoped were tears of joy and not my bad drawings. I could tell she was moved; both having been elementary school teachers we have always enjoyed children’s books. As the story ends the lead character and her true love go to the millstone together, where he asks her to use the millstone to see the future once again.

B:
As he got to the end where the characters are looking through the stone to see the future again, Mike stops. He tells me he hasn’t finished the story yet, and asked if we could act the ending out together. So the two of us squeeze our faces, looking through the hole in the millstone, and he said, “Do you see anything yet?”
M:
She had to have known it was coming, I told her “wait, I see something! Keep looking out over the lake” And that’s when I stood up and moved around to the side, and took out the ring…
B:
And he said “Do you see it now?” “Yes” I said sobbing uncontrollably. Then he told me…
M:
“Brynley, I’ve seen you in my future for so long now, and I hope you can see me in yours. I love you. Will you marry me?”

And well… tada!!! We were engaged! (With no cell service in Barnard, VT… we had to wait to tell everyone!) haha!

Our Favorite Memories:
Walking part way down the isle with Cruiser, our personal written vows and dancing to Edge of Glory for the last song with everyone.

Our Favorite Design Elements:
The entire antique feel of the wedding, Bistro lights hanging over the dinner tables in the outdoor tent, peach and white flowers designed by Lori from Wild Thyme.

From the Photographer:
When I found out about Brynley and Mike’s engagement, I was thrilled! We have been a part of a very close group of friends at the barn. I blame owning my horse Bentley on her! She said if you are going to get a horse it has to be this one after we all test rode him! Brynley wanted Mike and I to attend as guests so we can enjoy dinner and party. But as I kept helping her with planning and ideas, it became very clear that I had to capture their memories especially once it was decided that Cruiser was going to be a part of the big day. Big thanks to Linda at Greenville for being excited about the idea as much as I was and for letting us rehearse :) It was hard to keep from crying many moments of the day. I always feel honored documenting the happiest of moments for families and couples, but it is even more special when the couple are one of your dearest friends.
