Lindsay and Jason @Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia ~mkPhotography, Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

From the Bride:
“It wasn’t long after our first date that I knew Jason and I had something special. Our complementary personalities brought out the best in each of us. We fill each other with love and laughter. We complete each other.

As a little girl, I dreamt that my very own Prince Charming would propose to me in front of Cinderella’s Castle. Fast forward many years and my dream came true. When the colorful bursts of light started to fill the night’s sky at Disney, everyone was looking up, but Jason had directed my eyes downward. There, on one knee, he had made me the happiest girl on earth at the happiest place on earth.

The fairy tale proposal certainly wouldn’t have been complete without a fairy tale wedding. We were fortunate to have found an incredibly talented team, who brought all of our wishes to life with their creativity and passion.

The Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia was the perfect venue to welcome our friends and family, with its beautiful facade and magnificent event halls. Our band, London Bridge of EBE was everything we were looking for and more! They were fun, energetic, and purely amazing singers. When I came across Cinemacake FilmMakers. I was absolutely mesmerized by their work. Our wedding planners, Uncommon Events, took time to meet with us and we just fell in love with their talent. They brought us to our incredible photographers, MK Photography. Photographs are extremely important to me and I knew I needed the “best” and that is what we got! They just made us feel so comfortable.

As with most brides, I knew I was looking for that perfect wedding dress. A family friend recommended visiting Spossabela in Feasterville. I couldn’t have been any happier with the selection and service. The saleswoman really understood my personality and exactly what types of dresses I would like. After trying on four gowns I knew I didn’t have to look any further – I had found my dream dress. I choose the Allure Bridal style number 8958. I loved the figure, the beautiful lace floral design, the beading, and well as my favorite part, the Swarovski crystals defining sweetheart neckline.

As happy as a bride can be planning a wedding, a part of me felt loss and not fully complete because I wasn’t sharing this happy time with a special person most brides want to share this moment with, their mother. My mother, Barbara, passed away 6 and a half years from the date of our wedding. As heartbroken I have and had felt through joyful moments knowing my mother wasn’t physically here, I knew she is with me in my heart. Through the compassion and help of family and friends, made the heartache turn into a positive joyous occasion of what a wedding should be. I wanted to carry my mother’s memory with me, as I know she would have loved Jason and would have loved to be by my side. I had a Troll Doll with blue hair that my mom had received from my father at her Sweet Sixteen birthday party. I cut some of the Troll hair and the seamstress sewed in into a piece of the fabric, which was placed inside the gown. As incredibly strange and silly as it sounds to use ‘Troll hair’, it was a very special feeling knowing she was with me all day.

One of my most dreamt about moment for our big day was to have a special surprise dance. Coming from us, a couple who does not have any dance background, nor much coordination, we needed to find an instructor who would really work with us and come up with a fun yet simple routine. Our wedding planner Amanda brought us to Bianca and Brielle Gatto of Chez Studio Dance. They were perfect for us. For our first dance song, we choose the song from the TV show of Full House. Jason and I both love show! The episode of ‘Uncle Jesse’ singing to ‘Rebecca’ on their wedding day while showing a video montage of them from young children’s to adults dating each other, I knew I wanted a video montage as well as Bianca and Brielle’s dance moves to complete the full dream our first dance song.

When it comes to creativity and decorating, I honestly have no talent. Thank goodness for Uncommon Events!! They took away all of the stress, listened, and included all of my ideas to make it a dream come true. Our save the dates through ‘The Papery’ in Philadelphia, followed my idea of gorgeous sparkly purple design written in script with a little petty ‘bling’ on top. Uncommon Events created gorgeous, draped in a shimmery silver satin scape which lit up was absolutely amazing. Toped it with Lucite chuppah, white/ silver damask runner and candlelight along the aisle. Everything was exquisite!

We moved from the ceremony to a beautiful cocktail room that served the most delicious hors d’oeuvres. The cocktails and entrees were extraordinary as the exceptional reputation continues of the Ritz Carlton. The staff at the Ritz Carlton was absolutely phenomenal and made our guests feel so welcome as they enjoyed a memorable evening.

To answer the question about what was our favorite part of the wedding? We would have to say, one word; everything. The Uncommon Events team was truly remarkable. Their attention to detail and tireless effort gave us the wedding of our dreams. After the wedding, seeing all of the exceptional work of our photographers, MK Photo as well as our videographers, CinemaCake we enjoyed the memories they created from our special day – one of the most meaningful delights. They created masterpieces that we will cherish forever! We cannot thank them enough! Our wedding experience exceeds our expectations through the help of all of our incredible entire wedding team through the wedding process and wedding day. Our deepest gratitude goes out, as well as we highly recommending the following exceptional venders. Besides all the glitz and glam of the wedding, the most important part for both Jason and I was to spend it with the most special people in our lives, our family and friends. It was truly a magical night.”
