Lifetime of memories; we walked in lugging our cameras for this warm family session and saw our images from their wedding on all over their beautiful home! This drew smiles onto our hearts as we set up to photograph the latest addition to the family: this precious 1 week old baby Chase (SOMEONE is a Phillies fan!!) —super interested in everything but sleep! And little Avery didn’t want us to leave “can we play more…” :-) What a sweet, curious and engaging little girl!

We value our long term client relationships and are always astounded when we look back and realize that our new moms and dads were once newlyweds, and before that we were all brand new to each other as we photographed their engagement session.. Time goes on! It’s worth mentioning that hiring a wedding photographer often turns into a years long relationship, outlasting just about any other that comes from all of the planning and hiring for your wedding day.

It’s these relations that make photography so enriching for us, so rewarding, so beautiful, special. And it begs the question: How can so much love be contained inside a photo set?

Brynley & Mike’s Engagement Photos ~ Delaware Wedding Photographer

Dreaming of a nice, warm summer during the most frigid day of the year? Warm up with this sunny LOVE filled engagement session.

The barn has become a second home to me over the last few years. Mike and I have both developed friendships that go far beyond our horses. When Brynley started to date Mike, all bets were on for Mike being the one. He is so nice and thoughtful and not the mention handsome. Yes we were anxious to see the two of them make it official. Mike proposed in Vermont on the family’s land. Oh so thoughtful and romantic :) Let the planning begin. I refused to be just a guest. I will best enjoy capturing every happy moment at their Wedding in May at Greenville Country Club.

My favorite part of working with trusted friends is their willingness to trust my suggestions. Rustic location, early morning light, great styling and a lot of love and personality definitely made this one of my favorite sessions of 2014 :)

Enjoy and I can’t wait for May!

Irene and Michael @Hyatt at the Bellevue ~ mkPhotography, Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

Wednesday, February 18th, 2015

Irene and Michael’s “perfect wedding” vision was, “to actually enjoy our wedding day and not have to worry about details!” Michael tells us. “We tried for a very understated, formal look by letting the existing, ornate decor of the church and hotel shine, and compliment that with bold fall colors.” They really relied on their florist’s knowledge of the venue and expertise to take their wedding colors (again, “very bold fall colors“) and Robertson’s Flowers coordinated with Hyatt and the Bellevue’s wedding manager to make sure everything was perfect!

It was the cheers from all of their guests when the couple told them the band was going to play an extra hour that provided the most memorable moment to their wedding day! “It was amazing to know that all of our friends were enjoying the reception as much as we were!” recalls Michael.

Irene and Michael’s advice for future brides? “Hiring the right vendors, particularly those that have worked together in the past, allowed us to just enjoy the day rather than coordinating everyone.

Winter Wonderland at the Old Summer House
From the Bride:
“HOW WE MET:
It was an early Sunday morning in August, waking up next to the wood stove at my best friends house after spending the night. She had asked me to come to church with her and her family, as I have been here before and really enjoyed it. I was really tired and not feeling the greatest that morning, but agreed to go with them.. Little did I know saying yes to her would change my life forever. This is where I would be starting the rest of my life.

My friend asked if I could hold the her baby as she had to use the restroom, so as I stand in the lobby waiting for her in a sea of people, this guy walks over to me and says hi and starts taking with me. I have met him once or twice before but really we were nothing more than social media friends. So we talked for a couple mins or so and then that was it. The thing I didn’t know was that he just drove through the night from Ohio after playing a conference to be back for this Sunday and was in the same boat as me, tired and not feeling well and not really wanting to be there but rather be sleeping. Another thing I had no clue about was he went over to my friend and asked if I was single because he didn’t know my situation really at all.

So my friend then tells me this, of course right before service starts and then all I can think about is some guy asked my friend if I was single, great! I honestly thought that is where it would end, but no he actually did contact me later that day and asked if I would be his date for his best friends wedding. Wow, what a ‘first date’. I was completely caught off guard and wasn’t sure if I wanted to pursue this and just be let down after just going to a wedding with him. But after talking with my mom and dad and praying a lot about this, I told him I would go and thought it would be a lot of fun, secretly telling myself that so I didn’t get too excited or expectant of anything.

So obviously a first date to a wedding is a little much and intimidating, so we decided to go on a rear ‘first date’ and have breakfast together and get to know each other. Well don’t you know, we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He says he knew then that he was going to marry me. So we went on our second date and talked a lot more and at the end of the date he politely and so sweetly asked if he could kiss me, well that is when I just knew I was going to marry this man.

So we dated and got to know each other for about 2 months, living 2 hours apart was really difficult, so we’d almost always meet in West Chester, the halfway point. We always tried dinner at new places and walked and talked and just had so much fun getting to know each other. After that we almost always went to this little adorable gelato shop on main street with a small intimate court yard on the side. It was a perfect end to the evening always.

So on November 5th, we were meeting at West Chester per usual, and we started walking around town because he kept saying he was hungry yet let’s keep walking… So we get up to the Gelato Shop and there is a beautiful table and chairs with beautiful gold candles and champagne. We stop and look, he says to me I did this for you, because I know you are leaving for Russia this week and wanted to do something special, I was so confused. Then he grabs both my hands and gets down on one knee and goes on to give a wonderful will you marry me speech and how much he loves me.

WEDDING:
Being a wedding photographer, I have seen my fair share of weddings and had a pretty good idea of what I wanted our wedding to be like. My vision was to have our friends and family come together and share our best day with us and just celebrate. Coming from an artistic family we were able to do everything we wanted and dreamed of with the help of everyone of our family members. From the designing of my wedding dress down to my mom doing all the flowers and food that we had envisioned. I was going for a timeless/rustic elegant feel.

We wanted our friends and family to leave the wedding with memories of hope, joy, and love.

Some of our favorite moments were planning this massive yet elegant wedding with hundreds of our friends and family in just 3 short months. Designing our own wedding invitations. Designing my own wedding dress exactly how I always pictured it growing up and seeing it finished and absolutely perfect. The first look in the beautiful snow covered terrain. Coming in from a freezing cold snow covered ground to a beautiful, chandelier hanging, candle covered 100′ tables that friends could enjoy family style dinning and community. Having my mom cook one of my favorite homemade meals for 250 people. Dancing the night away with my dad to some of our families most cherished Jewish celebration song. Being surrounded by our most loved people in our lives was one of the best memories that we will never forget.”

Lindsay and Jason @Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia ~mkPhotography, Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

Wednesday, February 4th, 2015

From the Bride:
“It wasn’t long after our first date that I knew Jason and I had something special. Our complementary personalities brought out the best in each of us. We fill each other with love and laughter. We complete each other.

As a little girl, I dreamt that my very own Prince Charming would propose to me in front of Cinderella’s Castle. Fast forward many years and my dream came true. When the colorful bursts of light started to fill the night’s sky at Disney, everyone was looking up, but Jason had directed my eyes downward. There, on one knee, he had made me the happiest girl on earth at the happiest place on earth.

The fairy tale proposal certainly wouldn’t have been complete without a fairy tale wedding. We were fortunate to have found an incredibly talented team, who brought all of our wishes to life with their creativity and passion.

The Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia was the perfect venue to welcome our friends and family, with its beautiful facade and magnificent event halls. Our band, London Bridge of EBE was everything we were looking for and more! They were fun, energetic, and purely amazing singers. When I came across Cinemacake FilmMakers. I was absolutely mesmerized by their work. Our wedding planners, Uncommon Events, took time to meet with us and we just fell in love with their talent. They brought us to our incredible photographers, MK Photography. Photographs are extremely important to me and I knew I needed the “best” and that is what we got! They just made us feel so comfortable.

As with most brides, I knew I was looking for that perfect wedding dress. A family friend recommended visiting Spossabela in Feasterville. I couldn’t have been any happier with the selection and service. The saleswoman really understood my personality and exactly what types of dresses I would like. After trying on four gowns I knew I didn’t have to look any further – I had found my dream dress. I choose the Allure Bridal style number 8958. I loved the figure, the beautiful lace floral design, the beading, and well as my favorite part, the Swarovski crystals defining sweetheart neckline.

As happy as a bride can be planning a wedding, a part of me felt loss and not fully complete because I wasn’t sharing this happy time with a special person most brides want to share this moment with, their mother. My mother, Barbara, passed away 6 and a half years from the date of our wedding. As heartbroken I have and had felt through joyful moments knowing my mother wasn’t physically here, I knew she is with me in my heart. Through the compassion and help of family and friends, made the heartache turn into a positive joyous occasion of what a wedding should be. I wanted to carry my mother’s memory with me, as I know she would have loved Jason and would have loved to be by my side. I had a Troll Doll with blue hair that my mom had received from my father at her Sweet Sixteen birthday party. I cut some of the Troll hair and the seamstress sewed in into a piece of the fabric, which was placed inside the gown. As incredibly strange and silly as it sounds to use ‘Troll hair’, it was a very special feeling knowing she was with me all day.

One of my most dreamt about moment for our big day was to have a special surprise dance. Coming from us, a couple who does not have any dance background, nor much coordination, we needed to find an instructor who would really work with us and come up with a fun yet simple routine. Our wedding planner Amanda brought us to Bianca and Brielle Gatto of Chez Studio Dance. They were perfect for us. For our first dance song, we choose the song from the TV show of Full House. Jason and I both love show! The episode of ‘Uncle Jesse’ singing to ‘Rebecca’ on their wedding day while showing a video montage of them from young children’s to adults dating each other, I knew I wanted a video montage as well as Bianca and Brielle’s dance moves to complete the full dream our first dance song.

When it comes to creativity and decorating, I honestly have no talent. Thank goodness for Uncommon Events!! They took away all of the stress, listened, and included all of my ideas to make it a dream come true. Our save the dates through ‘The Papery’ in Philadelphia, followed my idea of gorgeous sparkly purple design written in script with a little petty ‘bling’ on top. Uncommon Events created gorgeous, draped in a shimmery silver satin scape which lit up was absolutely amazing. Toped it with Lucite chuppah, white/ silver damask runner and candlelight along the aisle. Everything was exquisite!

We moved from the ceremony to a beautiful cocktail room that served the most delicious hors d’oeuvres. The cocktails and entrees were extraordinary as the exceptional reputation continues of the Ritz Carlton. The staff at the Ritz Carlton was absolutely phenomenal and made our guests feel so welcome as they enjoyed a memorable evening.

To answer the question about what was our favorite part of the wedding? We would have to say, one word; everything. The Uncommon Events team was truly remarkable. Their attention to detail and tireless effort gave us the wedding of our dreams. After the wedding, seeing all of the exceptional work of our photographers, MK Photo as well as our videographers, CinemaCake we enjoyed the memories they created from our special day – one of the most meaningful delights. They created masterpieces that we will cherish forever! We cannot thank them enough! Our wedding experience exceeds our expectations through the help of all of our incredible entire wedding team through the wedding process and wedding day. Our deepest gratitude goes out, as well as we highly recommending the following exceptional venders. Besides all the glitz and glam of the wedding, the most important part for both Jason and I was to spend it with the most special people in our lives, our family and friends. It was truly a magical night.”
