The Bride’s Wedding Vision:
“I love neutrals. I’ve always loved the clean and simple look of shades of white and cream so I knew this would be the palette of our wedding. I wanted the overall feel to be glamorous and chic. We mixed in gold to break up the white and cream and petal tablecloths and mercury glass containers to add texture.”
3 things Jaclyn and Brett did a little differently:
“1. No place cards. We did a large seating chart. My husband’s tuxedo is full of place cards [from other weddings we have attended] that have just been shoved in a pocket and forgotten so I didn’t think they were worth doing.
2. Vogue Weddings book as a guest book. It was a beautiful coffee table book about weddings and now is even more beautiful with all our friend’s and family’s wonderful notes!
3. No bridal party/ family introductions. We wanted to celebrate with all our loved ones and make the most of our time so we tried to minimize all the formalities of the wedding including introductions.”
Highlight of the Night
“A surprise for us, my dad arranged for Chubby Checkers to perform! We had no idea when the band announced they had a very special guest coming out. My whole family was up front and center doing the twist! I have some of the best pictures of us and guests dancing and having a blast!”
Jaclyn’s Advice for Future Brides:
“My advice for future brides actually comes from my dad. After our rehearsal dinner he said to me ‘Let’s have a good time tomorrow because otherwise this is all just a waste.’ And it’s so so true — it doesn’t matter how much time, effort or money you put into planning, it means nothing if you don’t enjoy the day. We danced every song and had the absolute best time!”
