Heather and Brett @Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia ~ mkPhotography, Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

From the Bride:
“I got married on October 26th at the Ritz Carlton of Philadelphia. We had a fairytale wedding from start to finish. Every vendor we used was so friendly and professional it made the process that much easier. Trusting who I worked with made it easy for me not have to worry about tiny details on the day of and enjoy every moment.

MK photography did an extraordinary job on the photos for the wedding. Every picture captures a moment from the wedding that we will forever be able to cherish. The way the photos are taken makes it feel like you are reliving the day which is exactly what I wanted in my photos. Mike and Jana were so accommodating especially during my ‘bridezilla moment’ over a family photo.

My dress was a San Patrick of Edward gown with a cathedral length veil. Our first dance was to Your Smiling Face by James Taylor. This song had special meaning because while my husband was going to pick out my engagement ring he listened to the song and felt the way the song described so it reassured him that I was the right girl for him.

My perfect wedding vision was to have my friends and family there to support me and have lots of fun dancing with some good food and drinks. My priority was enjoying the moment with everyone because it was such a special day. I tried not to worry about the little details and be as happy as I can. The only people who are going to realize that a little detail is wrong is you, your husband and any one else who was there for the little planning details. You need to trust your professionals so choose them well!

3 unique details we had were
– we used square tables instead of round which made the tables more roomy for the guest and was not the traditional round tables
– We had 150 white flip flops stationed next to the dance floor for guest to change into so they could dance all night long in the comfort of flip flops
– we used a monogram theme, but not the point where it was overwhelming and everywhere.
For the most part our wedding was traditional and we tried to keep it as nice as possible.

My most memorable moment- this is a hard one to choose… I would have to say when my dad placed my hand into my husbands hand after I walked down the aisle. To me this was very symbolic that my dad was letting me go to start my life with my husband.

My advice to future brides: Do not let anyone stand in the way of what you want. Let everyone guide you to make sure you stay on track but make sure to speak your mind, and not in a nasty way. Enjoy the planning process because you can make so many wonderful memories with your mother, husband and future mother-in-law during this stage. My biggest piece of advice is the day of your wedding be as happy as you can be and do not worry about every detail. Things will go wrong, but let it go because every moment happens sooooo fast and the happier more relaxed you are the more you will take those in to cherish for the rest of your life! I was so happy the day of my wedding and every guest told me that it made them feel so welcomed and relaxed that it was one of the best weddings they have been too!”
