Fun Friday! Jana and Bentley in the Snow:

Friday, January 31st, 2014

It’s already the last day of the first month of 2014 and it has been a long, cold one! Getting outside may not be at the top of everyone’s list in subzero temperatures but few things breathe oxygen back into Jana amidst endless hours of album designing than taking a Bentley break!

Here are some photos of Jana and her infamous handsome horse Bentley frolicking amongst the snowy landscape of Gateway Stables near Kennett Square, PA.

Stay warm and THINK SPRING! :)

Cristina and David @Free Library ~ mkPhotography, Philadelphia Wedding Photography

From the Bride:
“My perfect wedding vision was mixing classic beauty of the Library with modern design and a touch of bling! We also wanted to ensure our guests had an incredible meal as well. Seeing as I am in the catering business the pressure was on! (Cristina works with Brulee Catering – link below!)

Three unique things that we incorporated into our wedding was Custom signage to cover existing signs at the library, mirrored table tops for dessert and hints of snakeskin (trays and bar wraps)

My most memorable moment was waiting for Dave to see me for the first time. I was excited, nervous, happy and anxious all at the same time. I will always remember the look on his face as I turned around!

My advice to brides that are currently planning is to pay attention to the details. The little extra can make an event. Incorporate touches that will make your wedding unique to you and your fiancé. Those are the moments people will remember.”

From the Bride:
Fall has always been my favorite season. For as long as I can remember, I knew I wanted to get married with the fall leaves and season being the centerpiece of my wedding.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue and backdrop to our amazing day, then Greenville Country Club.

All of our vendors were extremely creative and made my dream of a fall/rustic -countryside wedding theme come true. From the venue and event planner (Linda @ Greenville Country Club), to the fabulous band (Rio-EBE), the talented photography of Mike and Jana (MK Photography), the exquisite flower décor with dim candlelit lighting (Flowers by Yukie), the delicious Kentucky Ginger and Almond wedding cake (Crown Jewel Cakes-Rebecca King), the hand scripted dinner menu displayed on a chalk board easel in front of a glowing fireplace (Living Letters Studio), all the way down to the gorgeous hand-carved wooden pumpkin card holder – the evening was everything we could have dreamed of and more.

Our Story
We met at St. Mark’s High School, Wilmington, DE. I was a senior and Mike was a junior. On an evening at a mutual friend’s house, I took an interest in the tall, handsome football player. I approached Mike’s brother, Matt, and told him how cute I thought Mike was.

After several weekday and weekend run-ins, Mike asked me on a date. Our first date was on Valentine’s Day; he took me to dinner and then we watched a movie back at his parent’s house. The date ended in a long kiss goodnight and our lives were changed forever.

After 10 years of dating, and waiting patiently and impatiently, Mike finally decided that the time was right to pop the question. May 20, 2012 on the day of our graduation from our Master’s degrees, we went to dinner with our families at La Casa Pasta in Newark, DE. After the lovely, celebratory dinner of our accomplishment, Mike stood up to make a speech. I thought nothing of it, other than I did not want to make a speech after his. As Mike was saying what a wonderful day the we were sharing with our families, he began to compliment me and all he loves about me. It wasn’t until he dropped to one knee that I knew exactly what was about to happen. Mike asked me to be his wife surrounded by both our loving families. The first person I had to call was my beloved Grammy. Of course, Mike had already told the also impatient Grammy. We took off to Negril, Jamaica the very next day to celebrate our graduation and now our engagement. It was the icing on the cake to a perfect weekend!

Most people don’t think of scheduling photo sessions during the winter months but they can actually be a lot of fun! We love winter sessions for the contrast and surprising warmth that can be captured.

mkPhoto found these birch trees on a drive and decided that we had to photograph there. Colleen and Chris found out their baby is going to be a girl and contacted us for this fun winter shoot! We photographed their Blue Bell Country Club wedding a few summers ago and are looking forward to watching this loving unit grow!
