Sarah and Ian @College of Physicians ~ mkPhotography, Philadelphia Wedding Photographer
Sarah and Ian grew up in the same town, Brookfield, Connecticut, but did not meet until the summer of 2007. They were both home from college, and met Memorial Day weekend through mutual friends and have been inseparable ever since!
Proposal: August 24, 2012.
To celebrate their five year anniversary, Ian surprised Sarah with a getaway to the Brandywine Valley. They visited many wineries for wine tasting, and enjoyed delicious local fare. However, the trip was almost cut short when Ian’s nerves got the best of him… Sarah thought he was sick! Ian convinced Sarah to continue with his plan to go to Longwood Gardens.
At Longwood Gardens, Sarah and Ian enjoyed the beautiful scenery and each other’s company. Once they visited the Forest Walk, Ian waited for an opportunity to pop the question. After finding a quiet spot, he got down on one knee and proposed. Sarah, of course, screamed YES! It was perfect.
The newly engaged couple enjoyed the rest of the weekend celebrating with their families and friends.
Wedding Planning Ideas: “We wanted our wedding to be a classy and sophisticated event. When planning every detail of our wedding, we focused on elegance. Our wedding also included touches of sparkle.”
Sarah and Ian’s “perfect wedding” vision – “Classy, sophisticated and elegant, with a touch of sparkle. Our unique color palate of purple, blush and silver; touches of sparkle; a classic Philadelphia feel.”
Their most memorable moment: (Says Sarah:) “Walking down with aisle with my Dad toward my husband. It’s the moment every girl dreams of!”
One last thing: “What – if anything – did we DIY? – We designed and created our wedding paper online. This enabled us to make our wedding paper personalized to the style and feel of our wedding.”
