Emily’s Senior Session ~ mkPhotography, Pennsylvania Senior Photographer

Thursday, August 29th, 2013

This is Emily’s last year of high school! It was great to see our old neighbors and we cannot believe how quickly the time flies. We used to take portraits of the family in the past and now Emily is a Tatnall senior with college on the horizon!

If you’re a senior in the Greater Kennett / Wilmington area this year NOW is the time to book your Senior Portraits with mkPhoto!

Benna’s Pre-Mitzvah Portrait Session ~ mkPhotography, Philadelphia

Thursday, August 22nd, 2013

We shot Benna’s sister Sophie’s Mitzvah a couple of years ago, and she came to this shoot too so it was great to see the girls again! We love working with this family. Benna wanted a “Philly flavor” shoot so we took to the streets of Center City. Her Mitzvah is this September.

Julie and Peter’s story certainly covers some ground! Julie was born in New Jersey and Peter was born on the opposite side of the country, in Washington state. Living in the same dorm, Julie and Peter first met as freshmen at Beloit College in Wisconsin and began dating their sophomore year. Peter proposed to Julie outside of their favorite restaurant in downtown Phoenix, Arizona! The two reside and are now occupied as teachers in Arizona.

Tuesday, August 20th, 2013

Tracey and Steve decided to have their engagement session done at Chadds Ford Winery a few months ago and the results were the epitome of romantic! It was a beautiful afternoon picnic where the sun filtered through vines illuminating our picturesque couple.

The two will be our first September wedding this year; in just a few short weeks we will be photographing them at the Curtis Center in Philadelphia!

from our Mother’s Day Mini Sessions – Adorable Avery! ~ mkPhotography, Pennsylvania Portrait Photographer

Thursday, August 15th, 2013

We photographed Heather’s elegant Philadelphia wedding (see HERE!) in 2010 and had the absolutely wonderful pleasure of photographing Avery as a beautiful pink infant a little over a year later! (Totally adorable – Click HERE!)

This past May we had a Mini Session for Mother’s Day with Heather and Doug with their little one who is getting bigger and bigger every time we get to see them. Our studio session is just bursting with cuteness. Candy buttons? Minnie Mouse? Yes! And Avery LOVES wearing mom’s designer shoes! A girl after our own heart!

Brooke and Scott’s After Wedding Session ~ mkPhotography, Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer

Thursday, August 8th, 2013

Instead of doing the typical engagement portrait session with us, Brooke and Scott decided to do an After Wedding shoot! mkPhotography is happy to be able to offer this fun option as a part of our wedding photography packages.

Brooke and Scott were wed earlier this year in February. See their gorgeously romantic rainy day Philadelphia wedding HERE!
Special thanks to Aubrey of Claudia Seyler Hair and Makeup for Brooke’s lovely locks and makeup.
We LOVED those killer red suede pumps!

Meghan and Larry @DuPont Country Club ~ mkPhotography, Delaware Wedding Photographer

Wednesday, August 7th, 2013

From the bride:
“Larry and I met at University of Delaware 9 years ago. We were both members of the same student organization, and we quickly became friends. We would meet up almost every night to get coffee and would spend hours talking. One night after watching a movie, he kissed me and we’ve been together ever since. After graduation, we moved to Massachusetts for graduate school (for me) and law school (for him). In December of 2011, we were living in Boston and getting ready to go home for the holidays. Larry and I always do our own exchange of Christmas presents before we head home. Under the Christmas tree, Larry gave me a card that he had made that listed the top ten things of our year on each page. When I got to the last page, it said our number one moment was “The day you said Yes?”. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I have never been so surprised in my life! We spent the night celebrating together at one of Boston’s most romantic restaurants, and then we were able to share our news with all our friends and family when we got home for Christmas!!

We knew that we wanted to get married in Delaware because that is where our families are. It’s where we both grew up, and it’s where we met. When it came to planning our wedding, we knew we wanted it to be elegant and classic, but mostly we wanted it to be fun for our friends and family. We decided to have our ceremony at St. Thomas the Apostle in Wilmington and the reception at the DuPont Country Club. Our officiant was my priest from high school, Father Corrigan. We wanted to incorporate our own personal touches to the wedding, as well as some family traditions. I carried my great-great grandmother’s rosary in my bouquet, which included stephanotis because those are the flowers my parents had in their wedding. Our colors were purple (my favorite color) and green (Larry’s favorite color). We made our own table numbers, menus and seating cards. We also decided to do signature drinks of our favorite cocktails. The Bride’s choice was St. Germain and Champagne, and the Groom’s choice was a Manhattan. At times, planning the wedding felt so overwhelming, but we couldn’t be happier with the way it all came together. It was definitely the best day of our lives!”
