From the bride: “Dan and I met on the steps of the University of Chicago’s Regenstein Library in 1984! We dated in college, then lost touch for 20 years or so. Dan ended up in Washington, where he has a son and a daughter; I’ve been in Brooklyn raising two girls. We reconnected about two years ago, and ended up spending lots of time traveling between D.C. and New York by bus. We were married on May 26, 2013 at the Stone Barn in Kennett Square, where I have family, and which is about halfway between Washington and Brooklyn. My younger daughter and I will be moving to Chevy Chase, Maryland in a year, once my older daughter graduates from high school.”

We did Janet and Pete’s wedding in 2005 and any wedding and portrait photographer can tell you how warming it is to watch a client couple grow into a family, and to watch that family continue to grow!

An amazing weekend filled with nature and relaxing at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge:

In early 2011 Alex was in the final six months of a posting to the USA with the Australian Department of Defense. When his brother and sister-in-law came to visit, he took them to a local restaurant where he ended up meeting Julie. After that night, the two of them saw each other as part of bigger groups on a regular basis and very quickly their relationship developed into something more! When Alex returned to Australia, the two of them maintained a long distance relationship and in February of 2012 Alex returned to the USA to visit Julie, where they visited Deep Creek Lake in Maryland and Alex proposed. A flurry of paperwork followed in the effort to get Julie a visa to live and work in Australia, and the two of them did so until returning to the US to get married on June 1st, 2013! The wedding was absolutely charming with a lot of vintage details.

Kristi and Jonathan met at a marina situated on the Sassafrass River in Maryland; both of their families had boats there and they were there every weekend. The water and the sunset made for a perfectly romantic engagement session.

What can we say – we loved Zoe’s dress! This whole family rocked- we had such an awesome day being with them, photographing Zoe’s Bat Mitzvah and the wonderful festivities that followed.

Brian Kapra and Evantine did an incredible job decorating Peche and we always love the opportunity to work with our buddies at Cinemacake! A successful night all around; we are very happy to have been a part of it.
