Reconnect Thursdays: With so much work always to be done, it seems the blog gets lost in the shuffle, so I’ve decided to make a point of posting some wonderful weddings from last year that have not been forgotten!
It was wonderful documenting Liz and Manny’s special day! Thank you to all the great vendors.
From the bride:
Our love story began in 2006, when we met while working. The sparks began to fly during after work get togethers, as we found ourselves spending most of those nights chatting one on one. I had never dated at work before, and was very new at the job, so we took the beginning stages of our relationship slow as we get to know each other. Manny was patient and very persistent, and took to sending me flowers both at work and at home! Needless to say, it was not long before our friendship blossomed into the beautiful, exclusive relationship.
The next three years flew by as we explored and enjoyed our mutual loves: family, friends, professional sports, great food and travel. Along the way, we saw each other through new career opportunities, selling one house, buying another, dating long distance for a while and finishing a master’s degree. The changes were tough up at times, but brought us closer together in the end. In May of 2010, Manny popped the question after a family barbecue at his parents’ home.
Planning our wedding was a wonderful process and we couldn’t have done it without the help of Truly You Events. Chrissy helped us to identify our priorities and wedding style very early on. For me, it was important to create a romantic feeling for the reception, while incorporating my love of the color purple, fine dining, candlelight and the beautiful colors of the fall season. Manny’s Greek heritage was a top priority in planning, and also his love of red roses, and great music. Both of us fell in love with the Ballroom at the Ben immediately, with its Grecian pillars, ambient lighting, dramatic chandeliers and huge dance floor. It was the perfect setting for our big fat Greek wedding, and it just so happened to be within walking distance from the Church!
From there, Chrissy helped us to pull together our wedding vendors in no time and we couldn’t be happier with the services each provided. From the “Glam Squad” who made everyone look gorgeous, the friendly trolley drivers, the florals we are still hearing about today, to the breathtaking work of MKphoto that we will never stop loving, our wedding team was truly exceeded our expectations. Being at our reception and dancing the night away felt like a dream come true. It was the best night of our lives, and the perfect way to start our new life as husband and wife. We are forever grateful to everyone who helped to make the day so perfect!
