Kelly and Dayne   5.25.08

Friday, May 30th, 2008

What an amazing couple Kelly and Dayne are! So excited for us to photograph their wedding, and we felt the same way! I felt the special chemistry between all of us at the engagement shoot that we did last June. They were so willing to just let the day flow naturally and I felt they were really themselves all day. So kind and giving Kelly was such a pleasure to be around. Our day started at the Hotel DuPont where Kelly and the girls got ready. Dayne and his men started there also. Katie my assistant captured a bit of getting ready, the guys had fun being guys. Fun stuff!
Kelly and Dayne decided to see each other before at Gibraltar Gardens, Wilmington DE which was an excellent idea, knowing that they wanted truly special pictures without the normal rush and pressure. Their event was hosted by the Hotel DuPont which included the ceremony upstairs and magnificent reception in the Gold Ballroom. We were all treated very well by Andrea, the Gold Ballroom host and coordinator. There was no lack of emotion on this wedding day…you can just see it in the following images. Amazing!

Thank You Kelly and Dayne!
Have fun in Mexico!

Steve Croce - These photos are AMAZING, Mike! It was a real pleasure working with you and Katie at Kelly and Dayne's wedding. I look forward to seeing you guys again soon!

5.25.08 Muriel and Paul

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

We first met Muriel and Paul during an engagement session in Philadelphia last fall. We went to the Waterworks, to the Art Museum and to Love Park. We created a beautiful Vision Art guest sign in book for them – always a huge hit with the guests. Muriel & Paul’s wedding day theme was Philadelphia and LOVE. We started at the Omni Hotel for getting ready. The ceremony was held at the St. Augustine Church. The couple and the bridal party rode an old fashion Philadelphia trolley to the Art Museum for photos. The reception followed at the Ballroom at the Ben with everyone enjoying the food and dancing! Congratulations guys! Have fun on your honeymoon.

Jana & Brian

Muriel and Paul - Thanks so much for everything!!! We couldn't have found a better photographer!!! We cant wait for the photos. Thanks again.

5.23.08 Genevieve and Frank

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

If it was not for a very happy former bride we may not have been hired to Photograph Genevieve’s and Frank’s special day.. That VERY happy bride was Genevieve’s sister Melissa. We shot her wedding in the late summer of 04′. We LOVED working with Melissa and Dan and she loved the photographs from her wedding. It was so nice working with the Palaganas family again! Thanks Melissa for your support! btw, we cannot wait for that second photo shoot with your second child. I knew right away that Genevieve and Frank were going to be great to work with,(including “TANK” their Bulldog) it all started with an engagement shoot at Valley Garden Park located in Greenville, DE. last November. So relaxed on the shoot and open for suggestions from us. “I suggested that they just be themselves and to let us capture the love, fun and the interactions between the two of them” This “pre wedding” shoot set up their wedding day perfectly- they were so ready to just have fun and so trusted us to capture their true life moments. On a beautiful Friday afternoon, following the ceremony at St Patrick’s church we walked just a block to Rittenhouse Square with the entire bridal party. Genevieve and her father are so close and the love for his children so strong. A prayer was spoken for Genevieve’s and Melissa’s mom, how proud and happy she must be looking down from above. The reception was held at the Crystal Team Room in Philadelphia, PA. Angelique put together a very special slide show presentation for Gen and Frank. It was something that they both REALLY wanted for their guests and families to experience. Their wedding day montage in less than an hour! Angelique edited and organized about 100 images in time for the guests to see it upon entering the room. It was an moving slide show presentation displayed on a 23″ HD monitor without wires or a computer visible.
Thank You Genevieve and Frank!

Mike, Jana and Angelique

I can just hear Tank “Not any closer you hear me”, thanks to my 200mm lens I got this shot. :)

Dad’s last hug before letting go…

“It’s not just the action that is critical to capture but the extremely important reaction that really tells the story”

They just had to stop along the way to Rittenhouse for a kiss in front of everybody

This is what it is all about “Joy captured in a split second”

5.17.08 Rachel and Sean

Rachel you looked amazing on your wedding day! A genuine smile on Rachel’s face ALL day and an overall feeling that she LOVED her wedding day! This was a beach wedding dream, come true! The beautiful blue sky, amazing white clouds and the perfect temperature! We had lots of wind but that just made the dress and veil blow around, making the photos look that much better. Oh, and did I mention this is a couple that just loves each other and loves to be together. So apparent on their wedding day. I am so happy for them. The Bridesmaids the groomsmen also lots of fun to work with. Sean and his guys were met by Photographer Jeff Reeder at their beach house in Stone Harbor. I traveled to the brides beach house in Avalon and met up with Rachel and all the girls. The colors of the girls dresses were just perfect for a beach style wedding. A very nice soft blue and sea-foam green. Rachel’s dress was so light weight and flowing. Not a typical wedding dress at all but absolutely perfect for a barefoot walk on the beach. They traveled to at St Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Stone Harbor in a classic bright red trolley and following the ceremony to the reception at The Avalon Yacht Club, Avalon, NJ. I remember how spectacular the light was on the dance floor during their first dance. A beam of light shinning through a round window from the second floor wall! WOW! From inside the reception we could see a perfect sunset forming. I want to specially thank Samantha Diedrick the owner of Secretariat for her help and for keeping everything on schedule. She organized the rehearsal dinner on Friday that I hear it was a very festive event under a tent! We went outside to the waters edge and Rachel & Sean got right up on the bulkhead ready for a sunset picture they requested. Great Day! Great families! Great Times!

The cake an incredible mix of Cheese cake and mousse.

Thank you Rachel and Sean!

Mike and Jeff

Rachel and Sean - Mike, The pictures quite honestly took my breath away. I am not sure how to thank you for making the most wonderful day in our lives something we can relive over and over again through your pictures. Chosing the pictures to put in the album is going to present a challenge, unless you started stocking 200 page albums! We will be in touch with Angelique soon to start work on the album. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!! Rachel

5.17.08 Sara and John

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

A couple truly in love! We photographed their engagement session in Rockford Park last fall, even took a shot under the same exact tree that John proposed by! Their dedication to one another shone through the entire wedding day. Sara has been in Boston completing her residency for the past year and planning their wedding long distance. She and John did an amazing job. The couple chose the beautiful Hotel du Pont and the Westminster Presbyterian Church for their big day. Not even the construction that covered the church tower could spoil their day. An old time trolley took them, their families and the bridal party to the amazing Marian Coffin Gardens at Gibraltar. Chloe and Kaili – the two flower girls were so much fun entertaining everyone by yelling hot-dog pizza instead of cheese during picture time.

Congratulations! Good Luck!

Jana & Brian

5.16.08 Mariana and Michael

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

A great couple I have been waiting to photograph, and an amazing family that welcomed us with open arms. Mariana and Michael thank you so much for including in your special day! We loved every minute of it! And a big thanks to Don and Mary Anne, father and mother of the bride and Carol and Rick, mother and father of the groom! You made our day! Mariana and Michael you have awesome parents. Mariana and Michael were married at St.Joseph’s on the Brandywine in Greenville, DE. We had planned to do photos at Gibraltar gardens in Wilmington but a rainy day changed our plans. Though the umbrella were perfect, nothing was going to stop them from getting an outdoor photo! I also want to say that Mariana and Michael were so optimistic and made sure the rain was not going to affect the wedding day mood. As they say “lots of good luck for them!”
I remember Don mentioning to me that it rained the day he was married and they have been together for over 30 years! See, evidence to support the myth! The reception was held at the Hotel DuPont in the Gold Ballroom. Guests danced all evening to thee up beat songs of “Dreamtime” a band with ebe(Eddie Bruce Entertainment). As I write this post on another rainy day Mariana and Michael are basking in the hot sun on the island of St Thomas. I’m sooo.. jealous! Enjoy!
Mike and Jana

The best man speech was just so funny, as you can see Michael and Mariana are just losing it!

05.10.08 Kim and Tim

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

We had a very exciting day on Saturday. The weather held up most of the day and Kim and Tim enjoyed all the moments planned to make their day extra special. Kim’s family is a part of the Delaware Hy-Point Dairy, and we had so much fun in the morning including the bright yellow trucks in the portraits, as well as a tractor that Kim’s dad parked in the back yard just for the occasion.
Kim and Tim tied the knot at the beautiful Chapel at Villanova University and drove off in a horse pulled carriage – a moment just screaming ROMANCE. The reception was held at the Philadelphia Country Club with Jellyroll providing dance tunes no one could resist. The evening concluded with the cutting of an amazing cake by Ron Ben-Israel .

CONGRATULATIONS Kim & Tim! Enjoy Bora Bora and Tahiti!

5.10.08 Rayna and Aaron

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Our relationship started with Rayna and Aaron started when we did a pre wedding engagement shoot at Winterthur Country Estate and Gardens, Greenville, DE.(see shot below) It was a great June summer day! The wedding day, almost a full year later was also very exciting for us. It was held at Pen Ryn Mansion, and old restored mansion north of Philadelphia on the Delaware River. A real nice setting for us to shoot, perfectly landscaped gardens with green grass, beautiful flowers and some nice old architecture to work with. Rayna and Aaron meet for the first time in front of the mansion. It was a very nice moment. The ceremony was also held outside underneath a beautiful trellis overlooking the river. We walked around the grounds and captured some intimate moments between them. A couple in love..thats for sure! Thank you Rayna and Aaron for a nice relaxed and peaceful day! The reception in the ballroom that is all windows on the the west side, great light for several hours of the reception. Melissa was the host for the evening, thank you for taking care of everybody, you run a very professional staff!

This is a really cool special infrared shot we did. So peaceful and serene…

This image was captured during the ceremony as she looked down during the vowels, not a “staged” portrait!

05.03.08 Anne Marie and Lee

Friday, May 9th, 2008

I knew from the first time I met with them that Anne Marie and Lee were a couple that was destined to be together! From the first meeting , the engagement shoot to their amazing wedding day they never let go of each others hands. They have so much in common and are just great fun to be around. We did their engagement shoot in Philly last summer(wow, where did the time go…), starting out at the Continental for drinks we just walked around enjoying the late afternoon weather and feel of the busy city. We all had a great time and connected so well.
A truly warm and giving couple Lee and Anne Marie LOVED their wedding day! Mr. and Mrs. Gerhart CONGRATULATIONS! They were married at Saints Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church in West Chester, PA. Their Reception was at Drexelbrook, Drexel Hill, PA.
